The previous version has been archived under "old versions" with V1 added to the name. 2024-07-14: Introducing a totally redesigned, durable and airtight version! Duotone wings and kites use the Airport valve system and the valve plug is not compatible with most pumps. The adapter is not included with the purchase of a wing or kite, so if you had a generic pump and bought a wing, it's possible you can't pump it up and use it until you get an adapter from somewhere. My original design was somewhat fragile, because the bayonet connection puts a lot of stress across layer lines. I realized that in order to make this part really strong, I had to give up on the bayonet and use the thread for the cap to hold the adapter in place. The threaded part separates from the rest of the adapter after printing and turns freely, so that the adapter can be screwed on without twisting the hose. You can keep the adapter on the hose, but in practice, I find it easiest to separate the adapter and attach it to the valve and then attach the hose just before pumping. Screw the threaded part until you feel a bit of resistance and then twist the middle part slightly to open the valve. Tighten the threaded part slightly to lock the center in place so that the valve doesn't close while pumping. Pump your wing or kite normally. You should be able to see the pressure on the pump's gauge all the time and air should flow easily. Once you are at the desired pressure, grab a hold of the whole adapter (including the center and the hose) and give it a slight twist counterclockwise. This will close the valve. You can then either unscrew the adapter from the wing or remove the hose and then remove the adapter. This version is good enough to sell as a 3D printed part. I bought an Indiana Foil pump and while the hose looks exactly like my old pump hose (and the old hose fits on the new pump), the adapter fit was just too tight. The pump came with a Duotone adapter and that adapter was very tight as well, so it might be a slight manufacturing issue with the hose. I could have fixed this with a bit of sanding, but sanding PLA isn't fun, so I decided to make this alternate version. It's currently only available with built-in supports.
