There are countless knights that set out to gain the favour of the Lady of the Lake every year, but it is said that none of them are as determined as Count Ademar de Bouronne. None as driven, none as restless. It is also said that none of them are as doomed to never fulfill their quest as him. A mighty lord of the realm with vast estates and riches beyond measure, Count Ademar was as proud and arrogant as they come. During a fateful celebration of the successful quest of the son of a neighboring lord, an innocent remark made him feel challenged in his virtue, and for all to hear he loudly declared that he would start his own quest the next day, and not to return until he had become the most favourite knight of the Lady. "Within merely a fortnight I shall return, bathed in Her glory!", were his words. That was 25 years and countless struggles ago. On his journeys, Count Ademar has fought and overcome every creature unter the sun, has saved desperate villages, slain wretched ghouls in deep, lightless caverns, brought justice to entire regions and made foul creatures everywhere think twice before coming out of their hiding places. Only one thing has he not seen: the Lady of the Lake. And he never shall, for his quest was begun in pride, not in humbleness. A greater man might come to see the errors of his ways, return home and be saved. Count Ademar instead stubbornly continues, facing whatever the world is throwing at him. Were he to ever return, he would find his realm devastated, his riches gone and his family torn apart and impoverished by a brutal, all consuming succession war. His pride and arrogance have brought ruin to the once mighty home of Bouronne, and his name, once spoken in admiration and respect, has become a curse and a joke. Of this all he knows nothing, as it has been years and years since he last heard new from his far away home. Count Ademar can feel age creeping up on him. His powerful strikes don't land as hard as they used to, his reactions are slower and the harsh life on the road is getting to him more and more. He knows that he is running out of time. In his entourage he has brought those that, like him, have nowhere else to go. He is leading them to the cursed City of Sorrows. If he cleanses it from the evil that dwells among the ruins, surely that will make the Lady finally see him.This model comes with a custom 25mm base, supports will follow shortly!
