About this 3D model

I have a large collection of 35mm Slides from the pre-digital days of film. I used to keep these in ring binders but the binders have got tatty and needed replacing. I looked at the price of 35mm slide sleeves and boxes on well known web sites and decided that they were so expensive that I would make my own. This box holds around 100 35mm slides depending on the mount used. If you have mounted the slides yourself using Gepe mounts or similar you will get less in each box. The examples were printed in Matte PLA and work perfectly well for storage. If you want to keep taking the slides out you might want a different solution. This is a fairly basic model. Perfectly adequate for what I needed but you might want to consider a couple of improvements if you want to remix the model. Adding some form of recess in the lid to make the boxes stack better would be useful. You could also create a slot for a label on the front of the box so a small two-color lable can be attached. I would consider making the changes if a few people are interested. I found that printing these with a brim would stop any chance of warping off the bed but you might not need the brim. The 3mf file allows you to print two of the boxes but you can always remove a body and a lid and print both on one plate. I rather like the white & yellow version that reminds me of Kodak boxes or the white & green that look like Fuji boxes. Obviously you can go wild!
