Model Description:This download contains a highly detailed model of the KV-1S. Documentation and references for the real vehicle were rigorously studied to make the model as geometrically accurate as possible, except in the cases where printability would have to be sacrificed (such as the fender thickness). Historical Description:The KV-1S was a heavy tank developed by the Soviet Union during World War 2. The vehicle was an attempt to make the KV-1 heavy tank more mobile and reliable by reducing the armor thickness and upgrading the drive system. The KV-1S was armed with the 76mm ZiS-5 cannon, as well as 7.62mm DT MGs. The vehicle featured a new, lighter turret with a much more bulbous geometry which would become prevalent on later Soviet designs such as the T-34-85 and the IS series tanks. In Armored Advance:In armored advance the KV-1S does exactly what it did in real life. It is a KV-1 with reduced armor, but in return it gains some mobility in the form of a boost from 5" to 6" per action. Furthermore, it is marginally cheaper to field. The ZiS-5 cannon is fairly powerful and can deal with medium armor at moderate ranges, with a high damage stat.
