About this 3D model

Model Description:This download contains a highly detailed model of the T-40 amphibious light tank. Documentation and references for the real vehicle were rigorously studied to make the model as geometrically accurate as possible, except in the cases where printability would have to be sacrificed (such as the fender thickness). Historical Description:The T-40 was a light tank used in the early years of World War 2 before being replaced by the T-60 light tank at the end of 1941. The vehicle was armed with a 12.7mm DShK heavy machine gun, alongside a 7.62mm DT machine gun. The main novelty of the vehicle was its ability to traverse water due to being amphibious, propelled by a small propeller at the rear of the hull. The T-40 was meant to equip reconnaissance units and only possessed light armaments. The vehicle was quickly replaced by an upgraded model known as the T-30, as well as the T-60, both featuring thicker armor and 20mm TNSh cannons. The T-40 saw service during the defense of Moscow and during the initial German invasion but was relegated to training roles from late 1941-1946. Even with its short tenure, almost 1,000 examples were produced. In Armored Advance:In armored advance the T-40 is a very cheap HMG platform with little other utility. The armor is insufficient to stop incoming fire, and the HMG is only useful as an anti-infantry weapon. The vehicle does possess the ability to scout for other, more heavily armed units, however.
